Finding Cube Root... What's wrong with this working?

Question: Find the cube root of 13824

Read the working carefully.
  • Highlight area(s) that you think is incomplete
  • Identify an 'critical' mistake - because of the way the working is presented
  • Point out what's 'wrong' with the final statement

After note:

As discussed in class, the working of the prime factorisation is incomplete.

The critical error is, after the line 13824 = 24 x 24 x 24,
the student continued to write "= 24".
He should write "cube root of 13824 = 24"
