Methodically going through each chapter and making sure I understand it before moving on.
After learning about a certain chapter, some of us were picked to write on the whiteboard about what we learnt and sort of present to the class.
games that can be played in the class to help teach some math topics
Something interesting that will make the lesson more fun and interesting
My old teacher constantly taught us new problem solving strategies so we would not have to rely on only 1 or 2 strategies. She also prepared lots of fun activities to encourage us to enjoy learning maths. We could also share our own strategies with the class and we took down notes to help remember the strategies.
Have us bring whiteboards to test us on a type of problem sum to make sure we understand the problem.
Go back to chapters taught and revise it frequently.
My previous Math teacher would go through all the corrections without telling us which questions we got wrong. She would also give several methods to answer difficult sums and make sure all of us understood before moving forward. Also, we were not allowed to write anything down until the papers are returned.
Practise problem sums, and be sure to have a clear mind when attempting sums to reduce chances of careless mistakes.
I try to learn a chapter beforehand so that when the teacher teaches the subject, I understand what she is talking about. We should also revise the things that we have learnt frequently.
Enforce the must understand before doing rule so that we can all actually understand how to do it instead of like copying the answer from a friend as some teachers do not check whether do we fully understand our mistakes or not....
Use stories and drawings to help us remember more easily.
Make lessons memorable so that we will remember what is taught during the lessons.
